released the first three kosheen albums and related singles :
kosheen’s debut album ‘resist‘ (released 2001) blended drum’n’bass, breakbeat, electro, techno, hip-hop and jazz to impressive effect and established the bristol-based three-piece of sian evans, darren beale and mark morrison as credible dance-music makers.
while their second album, ‘kokopelli‘ (2003), drew together kosheen’s diverse musical roots and their personal experiences from performing live across the world, with guitar driven hooks, sian’s powerful vocals and expansive production.
kosheen’s last album release on moksha recordings was 2007’s ‘damage‘ which referenced both the electronica of ‘resist’ and the creativity and darkness of ‘kokopelli’ with early 80s synths, hefty beats, acidic bleeps, morricone guitars and haunting piano.
resist, kokopelli and damage have been remastered and are due for re-release in the summer of 2021.
